An all-new top five this month, with three albums from Warner Classics and Erato making an appearance - John Nelson's La damnation de Faust from Strasbourg with Michael Spyres and Joyce DiDonato, baroque favourites from Alison Balsom and her ensemble, and Beatrice Rana's electrifying recital of Ravel and Stravinsky transcriptions. But the top spot goes to an album with 'an irrepressible air of fun about it' - Adrian Chandler and La Serenissima's The Godfather on Signum, which features concertos by Telemann and his godson CPE Bach, plus works by Pisendel, Brescianello, Vivaldi and Fasch.
