In the lead by some margin this month are British pianists Steven Osborne and Paul Lewis, whose enchanting recital of piano-duets by Ravel, Fauré, Satie, Poulenc, Stravinsky and Debussy on Hyperion was our Recording of the Week in the middle of March: read our full review of this 'true meeting of musical minds' here.
There's a French flavour, too, to our second-best-seller, Hilary Hahn's Paris with Mikko Franck and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France on Deutsche Grammophon. The album features works by Chausson and Prokofiev as well as the world premiere recording of Rautavaara's Deux Sérénades - written for these artists towards the end of his life, with the orchestration completed by his compatriot Kalevi Aho following the composer's death in 2016.
