It’s perhaps no great surprise that Alina Ibragimova's Shostakovich concertos with Vladimir Jurowski and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia 'Evgeny Svetlanov' on Hyperion tops the chart this month: the album was a Gramophone Editor’s Choice, BBC Music Magazine’s Recording of the Month, and Disc of the Week on Record Review at the beginning of June.
