Our best-seller of the month is Paul Lewis’s recording of the complete Beethoven Bagatelles, released on Harmonia Mundi on 10th July – you can read our full review of the album here, and Katherine’s interview with the pianist (in which he discusses his recent experience of giving a live-streamed recital from an empty Wigmore Hall as well as Beethoven’s ‘often uncompromisingly uncomfortable’ piano-writing) here. The boxed set of Lewis’s complete Beethoven piano sonatas, concertos (with the late Jiří Bělohlávek and the BBC Symphony Orchestra) and Diabelli Variations has also enjoyed a second wave of interest, entering the chart at No. 5 - the 14-CD collection is one of the best bargains in our Harmonia Mundi special offer, which runs until late September.
