Our best-seller of the month is Light for the World, a collection of plainchant from the Poor Clare Sisters Arundel, featuring some of the music which the 23 sisters sing as part of their daily worship at their Sussex convent. Meditation of a more secular variety is also a key element of the album sitting at No. 2: French pianist Bertrand Chamayou’s eclectic collection of lullabies, Good Night!, released on Erato at the beginning of October. And Gramophone’s Recording of the Year – Weinberg’s Symphonies Nos. 2 & 21 from Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Gidon Kremer, and Kremerata Baltica – retains its foothold in the top 5, having been a regular fixture in the chart for almost a year now.
