Despite release-day still being a few weeks away, the young British guitarist Alexandra Whittingham's debut recording on Delphian has already accrued sufficient pre-orders to top the chart for April - released on 28th May, My European Journey features Tárrega’s Capricho árabe and Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Legnani’s Fantasia brillante e facile, and music by Ernest Shand, Napoléon Coste, Giulio Regondi, and Catharina Josepha Pratten.
Winners of last month's BBC Music Magazine Awards also feature prominently, including Egyptian soprano Fatma Said's debut album El Nour (Newcomer and Vocal Awards), John Wilson and Sinfonia of London's Respighi Roman Trilogy (Orchestral Award), and of course the final instalment of Peter Phillips and the Tallis Scholars' 'unforgettable' Josquin series on Gimell, which was named Recording of the Year.
