Oropesa sings with exquisite emotional restraint, subtly shading her vibrato and colouring her mezzo range with a Schwarzkopf-like radiance and intensity.-

Her intonation is well-nigh perfect and she brings character to these rarely heard concert pieces. It may be an advantage to listen to just a few at a time so that each mini-drama is fresh to the ears. She is carefully supported by the Baroque band Il pomo d’oro with its spritely and occasionally rasping accompaniments.
