Lullabies, or “Ninna-nanna’s” are some of the most common poetic-musical forms. A genre that has existed for millennia, lullabies have a similar, repetitive style and rhythmic pace regardless of which cultural or geographical region from which the song originates. + Composers began to take the “Ninna-nanna,” and transform it into more complex pieces, acquiring two and three part forms. The works, however, never lost that hypnotic, lilting motion. + This collection attempts to provide an overview of all forms and styles of the Lullaby. Evocative magical atmospheres transport the listener into dreamy childhood memories, performed by renowned musicians Francesco De Poli and Cesare Sampaolesi.
