After making a pre-release appearance at No. 13 in the February chart, Sir Antonio Pappano's new recording of Puccini's Turandot on Warner Classics (using Franco Alfano's complete original ending and starring Sondra Radvanovsky, Jonas Kaufmann & Ermonela Jaho) swept all before it last month, having featured as our Recording of the Week on 10th March and also as Gramophone's March Recording of the Month.
Other popular titles included Isabelle Faust's recording of the Stravinsky Violin Concerto with François-Xavier Roth & Les Siècles on Harmonia Mundi, Benjamin Grosvenor's recital of works by the Schumanns and Brahms on Decca, and John Wilson & Sinfonia of London's second album of English Music for Strings on Chandos (celebrating its third month in the Top Five)...
