About
Flanked by a spectacular cast featuring the role debuts of Nicky Spence (named ‘Personality of the Year’ by BBC Music Magazine in 2022) and Simona Šaturová, the conductor Ben Glassberg (Music Director of the Opéra de Rouen Normandie) once again demonstrates his Mozartian temperament. This late masterpiece (written at the same time as Die Zauberflöte) places his musical genius at the service of a plot centred on the complexity of emotions, passionate love and the absurd disaster of betrayal.

Christmas 2022
The title-role is difficult to cast, but Nicky Spence has the range, the fluency and the technique to bring off all the vocal challenges while equally entering fully into the character’s plight...With his ideal choice of tempos and keen sense of balance, [Glassberg's] interpretation reveals all the virtues of Mozart’s score.
January 2023
Stéphany’s silvery mezzo has touching vulnerability and fine musicality.
January 2023
There is much to enjoy in Glassberg’s recording, not least his own stylishly assured and well-paced handling of the score...there is some excellent singing, above all in the case of the outstanding Sesto of the Anglo-French mezzo Anna Stéphany...Spence’s Tito is a positive, compelling interpretation, stronger on the heroic than the lyric side.
