About
"Sweet Melancholy" - in England in the 16th and early 17th century that was no contradiction. "Melancholy" was considered a noble mind; in mild mellowness one nearly enjoyed the Weltschmerz. Besides some dance movements, the Cellini Consort also plays fantasies of William Byrd, Purcell and others.
