The 1st Act is sung with more gusto than subtlety, but for a live performance - derived from two evenings - it is certainly good enough to enjoy and most of the opera is better sung.

Opera Now

the production is rather wonderful. Stefano Poda’s strong vision and artistic control (from lighting to choreography) ensures an aesthetic treat...Texture, chiaroscuro and ritualised movement are all used by Poda to bewitching effect.
