About
A spectacular new studio recording of Bizet's opera Carmen.
Superstar tenor Andrea Bocelli sings Don José with acclaimed mezzo soprano Marina Domashenko as a steamy Carmen: “This singer stuns the audience...extremely seductive.” Prague Post
The magnificent Bryn Terfel is Escamillo, the toreador who seduces Carmen away from Don José, and is a match for any bull – and for any other singer who has ever sung this role.

Awards and reviews
October 2010
We have mezzo Marina Domashenko as a forthright gypsy...wrapping her powerful tones persuasively around 'Habanera' and 'Seguidilla'...We have Bryn Terfel as a forceful toreador...equipped with the full range for the big number.
June 2010
The Carmen herself will, for most of us, be a remarkable discovery. Her voice is an opulent contralto with an ample range upwards, and she knows how to lighten, how to smile and keep the music on its toes with a keen sense of rhythm...Altogether there is much to be said for her.

The peculiar tragic nobility of Bocelli's voice is perfectly suited to the role of Don José, but the clinching elements are the supporting performances, particularly Marina Domashenko in the title role...and Bryn Terfel, who delivers the "Toreador's Song" with a swashbuckling gusto.
