Though Evelyn Lear has starred in some outstanding recordings of complete operas, this collection of arias was her first to be released. Ranging from Handel (Cleopatra) to Berg (Marie in Wozzeck), this compilation of live performances demonstrates the soprano’s astonishing versatility and supreme musicality. An outstanding addition to VAI’s Evelyn Lear edition, this release pays tribute to the artistry of a great American soprano.
