This is an astonishingly successful modern production...Throughout the opera Netrebko sings gloriously...[Villazon] makes a perfect partner for her as Alfredo, their acting as well as their singing consistently real and spontaneous. Thomas Hampson, too, is a quite unforgettable Germont pere...In short, this is a production full of imagination.
