Frank de Bruine's poetic oboe is attractively matched with Rachel Podger's articulate solos in Vivaldi's Concerto B flat for oboe and violin. Podger's and Beznosiuk's virile violin duels reach their zenith in a finely crafted performance of Bach's Double Violin Concerto: the central Largo ma non tanto is sensitively drawn and the concluding Allegro is among the most thrilling I have encountered.

The degree of passion, excitement and joy stirred by this concert was surely exceptional
