A quiet, introspective tango in Bb minor – melancholic, tender, and deeply human. In the unusual 5/8 time signature, the piece sways gently and asymmetrically, like a breath that lingers just a little longer than expected. The melody is simple yet full of longing, subtle harmonic turns and delicate chromatic lines quietly speak of vulnerability, warmth, and what it truly means to be human – never slipping into sentimentality. Clocking in at around 5 minutes, “Only Human” invites both player and listener to pause for a moment: between Piazzolla’s fire and British understatement, this piece gives space to the soft, fragile heart of tango. For advanced pianists who also cherish the gentle, reflective side of the genre. Difficulty: Early Advanced. ©Galileo Music Communication GmbH
