Dark Moon is a work which lies mostly in the Aeolian mode with hints of Dorian and Phrygian as the work progresses. Starting out rather aggressively, the piece grows in volume and intensity to a climax about halfway through at which point it transitions to a softer, more legato feel with gentle pizzicato accompaniment. The mood then rather quickly transitions back to an aggressive tone with wide leaps and short repetitive motives leading to the climactic finish. Score only.
