This concerto for bassoon in F major has three movements. The short opening adagio is fol-lowed by an allegro with an extensive introductory tutti. Then the bassoon presents its very melodious theme, alive with virtuosic triad arpeggios, scales and large interval leaps in the manner of the well-known bassoon concertos of the time. The second movement is a sweeping adagio, featuring a lyrical motif that holds its own against other compositions of the time. Ending with the cheerful Rondo à la Pollaca, the concerto is at home among many other clas-sical concertos in its sequence of movements
