From the 'folk songs' of John Jacob Niles's Appalachian collection comes this touching melody with rich harmonic involvement. Although written to be played by your least experienced ensemble, THE LASS FROM THE LOW COUNTREE should not be overlooked by any group searching for a quality concert or contest work. Not as well known as its companion piece, BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY TRUE LOVE'S HAIR, it nevertheless offers the same memorable melodic experience in a truly lovely setting. (3:46)
