For Violin, Cello, Vibraphone and Piano. This work was composed in memoriam Fred Hutchins Hodder, who died between Christmas and New Year 2001. A violinist and gifted mathematician, 20-year-old Hodder had beenatPembroke College Cambridge and the title derives from the pleasure he used to get when finding unexpected connections between seemingly unconnected things. For piano trio and vibraphone, the work was written forHodder’sparents, Monroe and Fred.
