First published in 1921, George Dyson’s superb Woodland Suite was originally titled In Pixieland. This title in part describes the musics changes of mood, from lively to tranquil, symbollic of themovement and nature of woodland nymphs. Expressive, exciting and beautiful; this is an evocative and charming work and is ideally suited to amateur and school orchestras.
