Tim Garland & Jason Rebello

Life to Life is the culmination of over three decades of musical camaraderie between multireedist Tim Garland and keyboardist Jason Rebello, drawing on years of composing and life on the road for this intimate duo album.

World-renowned saxophonist Chris Potter releases a live set recorded at the similarly renowned Village Vanguard during his annual residency in 2022, with a band featuring Craig Taborn, Scott Colley and Marcus Gilmore.

Compiling music of regular performers from London's Total Refreshment Centre, a live venue just north of Hackney, Transmissions compiles the local sounds of nu-jazz, hip-hop, dub, soul, funk and even drill on this new Blue Note release.

Matt Carmichael

Marram is the sophomore recording by Scottish composer/saxophonist Matt Carmichael, marrying his love of folk and jazz as a successor to his successful debut Where Will The River Flow, and releases this week on yellow vinyl.

Available Format: Vinyl Record

Sensitive Hours - Shaot Regishot by Avishai Cohen releases outside of Israel for the first time this week; originally recorded back in 2008 as a Hebrew-language vocal record, it also marked a first for the bassist as his first non-instrumental record.

Available Format: CD

Originally released in 1962, saxophonist Jackie McLean's Bluesnik gets treated to a Blue Note Classic Vinyl reissue with a stereo all-analog remaster. Recorded with a quintet of McLean with Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Kenny Drew on piano, Doug Watkins on bass, and Pete La Roca on drums, the album features six befittingly blues-influenced originals.

Available Format: Vinyl Record

Another Blue Note Classic Vinyl for this week, Horace Parlan's Speakin' My Piece is the third of a killer streak of Blue Note albums released by the pianist in 1960, featuring Stanley Turrentine on saxophone, Tommy Turrentine on trumpet, George Tucker on bass and Al Harewood on drums. This reissue of Speakin' My Piece is also an all-analog stereo remaster.
