The latest jazz releases include rare live performances from Albert Ayler, unreleased solo piano recordings by Esbjörn Svensson, and Michael Feinberg's debut on Criss Cross Jazz.

Samuel Leipold, Jürg Bucher, Luca Lo Bianco

This Ezzthetics release features new music by the trio of guitarist Samuel Leipold, clarinetist Jürg Bucher and bassist Luca Lo Bianco, with original compositions interspersed by pieces by Jimmy Giuffrè and Igor Stravinsky.

Available Format: CD

As the title suggests, this release features numerous hard-to-come by performances from Albert Ayler, originally featured in bootlegs like the Holy Ghost box set. While also attempting to fix some of the sound quality issues the original releases had, Lost Performances 1966 Revisited also includes 3 tracks from a Munich film session, as well as Rotterdam and Helsinki live recordings.

Available Format: CD

Michael Feinberg

Bassist Michael Feinberg makes his debut on Criss Cross with a set of six original tunes by himself along with two by bandmates Noah Preminger and Leo Genovese respectively, with a band that also features drummer Nasheet Waits and guest spots by saxophonist Dave Liebman.

Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC

Esbjörn Svensson

Home.s. is one of the only existing solo piano recordings by Esbjörn Svensson, who tragically passed away back in 2008. Made shortly before his death, this recording features nine previously undiscovered piano songs that feature a mixture of both through-composed and improvised pieces.

Available Format: CD

Rachael & Vilray

I Love a Love Song! is the new duo album by vocalist-guitarist duo Rachael & Vilray, with original tunes inspired by classic vocal jazz acts.

Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC
