Obituary, 2020 Jazz Goodbyes

A short tribute to the jazz musicians we lost in 2020, including pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Gary Peacock, saxophonist Jimmy Heath, pianist & composer Keith Tippett, Ellis Marsalis Jr., and Helen Jones Woods, trombonist of the all-woman big band International Sweethearts of Ryhthm.

The music featured in the video is Duke Ellington, Irving Mills, and Barney Bigard's 'Mood Indigo', performed by the late Ellis Marsalis Jr.

Matt Groom - Head of Jazz

After spending much of the nineties producing music programmes for cable television, at the turn of the millennium Matt became a music publicist, before joining Presto to become Head of Jazz. He enjoys making electronic noises for his own amusement, and was once in an improv trio with real jazz musicians.
