Emmanuel Pahud (flute), Dresdner Philharmonie, Jonathan Stockhammer
Pahud's recorded output has been nothing if not varied. His latest album comprises three works that, between them, are a persuasive overview of the flute's latter-day capabilities.

About
Emmanuel Pahud’s new album, Ceremony, takes its title from a five-part flute concerto of the same name by Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa, which was dedicated to Pahud and premiered by him in 2022. Pahud also performs Christopher Rouse’s Flute Concerto (1994), which was written as an elegy to Jamie Bulger, who was tragically murdered aged two years old in 1993. He completes the programme with Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata Op. 94, newly arranged for flute and orchestra by Stephan Koncz who (like Pahud) is a longstanding member of the Berlin Philharmonic.
