About
Domingo Hindoyan’s exciting programme of French repertoire includes early and late orchestral masterpieces by Debussy, Roussel’s sumptuous and brilliantly scored second ballet suite from Bacchus et Ariadne, and the rarely heard and spectacular La Péri, subtitled Poèm Dansé by the highly self-critical but brilliant Dukas.
“Of all the recent conductor signings at UK orchestras, this is the one that intrigues me the most” - The Spectator, on Domingo Hindoyan’s appointment as Chief conductor of the RLPO.

Christmas 2022
In general these are honest, respectful performances. In Dukas’s ballet music La Péri, the complex details are never allowed to swamp the logical argument, and the same goes for the second suite from Roussel’s ballet Bacchus et Ariane...Debussy’s faun is presented in a suitable atmosphere of ecstatic languor.
Awards Issue 2022
[The] idiosyncratic Jeux may not be to everyone’s taste but otherwise this is a notably accomplished debut, and I look forward to what Hindoyan does next.
September 2022
With razor-sharp ensemble, fabulously detailed textures and a keen awareness of the dance impulses driving much of the music here, this debut recording from Domingo Hindoyan suggests that he's already absolutely at home with his new orchestra: the many tempo-changes in Debussy's Jeux feel absolutely organic rather than micro-managed, Roussel's Bacchus et Ariane packs some real gut-punches, and the Faun's Afternoon has rarely sounded so unashamedly sensual.

As an introduction to the new Liverpool partnership, it could hardly be more impressive. Jeux is always a tricky, elusive work to bring off, but from the mysterious opening onwards, Hindoyan’s performance has a beguiling charm...The RLPO’s playing, meanwhile, has all the refinement and balance anyone could expect.
