Spiritual Quest' - the title of this album - is a work by the young composer Ivan Boumans, who wrote it especially for this recording of contemporary music for trumpet and organ. The project presents a broad spectrum of partly very different works for this instrumentation. All compositions were written in the second half of the 20th century and in the period after including works by André Jolivet, Henri Tomasi, Einojuhani Rautavaara, or Luxembourger Ivan Boumans, who was commissioned to write the title piece. The album was recorded in May 2019 at the Grand Auditorium of the Philharmonie Luxembourg with the first solo trumpeter of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Adam Rixer accompanied by Award winning organist Maurice Clement.
