Awards and reviews

January 2020

All is played with sufficient style, with subtle ornamentation in reprises and a concern never to distort the music through eccentricity or point-making...Other favourite sets of the sonatas may illuminate more brightly the many facets of these deceptively simple works but Muller is a perceptive guide to this music.

February 2020

The brilliant first movement of the Sonata K311 exudes humour, particularly in the cheekiness of the two-bar exposition codetta (repeat observed) and in the acciaccaturas of the Rondo’s theme. The daring of the finale’s cadenza is magnificent, while the aria-like Andante con espressione is perfectly judged. Muller’s ornamentation of the first movement development repeat in K282 fits perfectly with the overall spontaneity of these performances, the finale replete with Haydnesque caprice. Simply superb Mozart.
