While her soft singing is pure and even-toned, and her phrasing always expressive, Kermes is over-fond of a blanched, almost crooning pianissimo…If you do investigate, be assured that Amici Veneziani are nimble and sensitive accomplices.

Hers is undoubtedly a strong vocal personality, her approach individual to the point of idiosyncrasy…Certain arias are carefully shaped, sensitive in approach and expressive in intent, with an undeniable certitude of interpretative approach not invariably evident elsewhere…The period-instrument ensemble does a decent job, providing some keenness of attack, though occasionally accents are over-emphasized.
