About
Music to Inspire! Film music favorites by John Williams, including Superman, Star Wars, J.F.K., 1941, Close Encounters, E.T. and more! Williams is one of the best known, most awarded and most successful composers in U.S. history, and his name is inextricably connected to outstanding music for films. A less-known fact is his fondness for writing, arranging and conducting wind band music. This collection is performed by America's leading professional civilian wind band, the DALLAS WINDS, and recorded in spectacular audiophile sound by Grammy-winning engineer Keith O. Johnson.

September 2018
Close Encounters opens with a piercingly dissonant note cluster, unexpectedly resolving to a punchy C major chord after 30 seconds, a moment that will make the unwary spill their drinks. Jerry Junkin’s forces play superbly, and audio buffs will note that this disc was recorded by the legendary engineer Keith O Johnson. Sonics are predictably stellar.
