About

A programme of works attributed to – or transcribed by – Johann Sebastian Bach, whose common denominator is musical excellence. Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti pay fervent tribute to a period when copyright was unknown, but whose spirit testifies to a dazzling creative freedom that inspires the artists from beginning to end of this recording.

February 2018

There is some captivatingly lovely music here, regardless of whose signature should be attached to it, and it’s captivatingly played, too…Balance, ensemble an intonation are beautifully judged, and the sound is seductively transparent. In short, fine inauthentic Bach, played in fine authentic style.

December 2017

It’s an interesting and diverse assortment, performed here with enough style and conviction to genuinely make the modern-day issue of not being able to attach a ‘name’ to a musically worthwhile piece seem irrelevant…There’s some beautiful duetting across the programme too.

Record Review 30th December 2017

a fine idea … it’s worth leaving his [Pisendel] name attached so at least we can still find it and hear what an excellent piece it is, and so is this performance from Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti.
