About

Philipp Furtwangler and Alfred Fuhrer built more than 80 organs in North Germany, several of which have been extensively restored by Bente Orgelbau over the past years. To demonstrate the multifacetedness and timbre of these newly renovated organs, the Hamburg organist Matthias Neumann has visited three of the most exciting instruments, playing on each works by the great German masters from the baroque era to romanticism. The compositions of the composers featured here are a testament to how both the sound of the organ and how the various forms of compositional style have changed over time.
