The Chemnitz-based Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie and their music director, Frank Beermann, have already recorded all the numbered symphonies for CPO in a new critical edition, so the Zwickauer Symphony makes an obvious appendix; the movements are certainly worth hearing – inevitably indebted to Beethoven, and with occasional echoes of Schubert, too
