About

This MUSICAL ADVENT CALENDAR from Oxford’s leading mixed-voice collegiate choir is their second release on the Stone Records label, following their highly-successful recording of Duruflé’s Requiem and Milford’s Mass. This beautifully-presented disc is a countdown to Christmas of 24 tracks (with a bonus for the Day itself) featuring wonderful performances of some of the best-loved carols of all time, and a handful of première recordings that will delight all music lovers. Each Advent Sunday is marked by a Bach chorale, and the listener is guided through Advent, as the excitement builds for the arrival of Christmas Day.

A uniquely-devised and brilliantly-performed Christmas CD.

Christmas Issue 2013

Lusty performances, and a nice mix of familiar and less familiar selections.

Classical Iconoclast November 2013

No Xmassy ersatz here. This is the real thing!..they sing with freshness and energy, yet are mature enough to sound as if they're singing because they have chosen, spontaneously, to get together and enjoy themselves...a disc to cherish.
