About
Otto Klemperer was one of the greatest interpreters of Beethoven’s repertoire. Together with the Philharmonia Orchestra he made memorable studio performances of Beethoven’s Symphonies, which EMI recorded and turned into a catalogue highlight. With the same orchestra Klemperer played Beethoven’s Symphonies in a series of Vienna concerts held in 1960. The first CD of these live recordings features Symphony Nos. 1 and 3.
