About

Zoroastre (1749) is a tragic opera in which the characters are playthings of battling divinities; on the other hand Zaïs (1748) is a light-hearted piece of theatre, celebrating the myth of great love.

Contrasting the two, composed simultaneously but belonging to two different genres, the dozen carefully selected musicians of Ausonia offer a pertinent response, pointing up the excitement, colours and details of the music.
