Drawing upon the greatest poets of his generation, Schumann’s Lieder are among the most perfect works of German art – capturing the most intimate feelings with honesty and self-realization. Bass-Baritone Ulf Bästlein has devoted much of his time to (re-) discovering and studying the German Lied repertoire from the eighteenth century to today and to making it known through his recitals to a wider public.
