Andante June 2001
Here we have a Franck set that is compelling not only because of Naxos' low cost, but also because of the quality of the performances, informative notes, good recorded sound, and an instrument appropriate for the music itself. The result is both a treat to the ears and a good representation of what it may have been like to hear Franck at his instrument. Naxos gives us thoughtful performances on an exemplary instrument at a very reasonable price.
