About

Two collections from Jordi Savall and Hespèrion XX bring together Spanish music from the mid-fifteenth to the mid-sixteenth century. CD1 demonstrates the variety of musical styles that could be heard at the Spanish court in Naples during the reigns of Alphonso I, Ferdinand I and Charles V. The second disc focuses on works by Spain’s most distinguished instrumental composer, the blind Antonio de Cabezón, organist and harpsichordist to both Charles V and Philip II.
