Obsidian Records
Obsidian Records seeks to illuminate the past and its music. Since its inception in 2005 the label has focused on music from the period c.1300-1750, including previously unrecorded repertoire and using new, unique scholarly editions. Artists include some of the finest available, from Britain’s leading new vocal consort, Alamire, directed by David Skinner, to established groups such as the viol ensemble Fretwork and collegiate choirs of Oxford and Cambridge. Packaging and booklet notes also bring new light and vision to some very exciting music.
