Jehan le Taintenier or Jean Teinturier, Latinised in Johannes Tinctoris (aka Jean de Vaerwere) was a Renaissance composer and music theorist from the Low Countries. Up to his time, he is perhaps the most significant European writer on music since Guido of Arezzo.
