The Franco-Spanish guitarist Thibaut Garcia was born in Toulouse in 1994 and studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, winning major competitions in Weimar, Seville and Oklahoma whilst still in his teens; he signed with Warner Classics/Erato in 2016 and was made a BBC New Generation Artist the following year. His debut album on Warner, Leyendas (a predominantly Spanish programme, including music by Rodrigo, Albéniz, Falla and Tárrega), was praised in BBC Music Magazine for his ‘smooth, rich and sweet sound and impeccable virtuosity’ and Bach Inspirations (‘flowing, pellucid interpretations’ – Gramophone) followed two years later.
