Michael Fabiano was born in New Jersey in 1984 and studied at the University of Michigan (where he was taught by George Shirley) Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts. Following student appearances as Don Ottavio and Rinuccio, he made his professional opera debut in 2007 as Alfredo in Klangenfurt, Austria; he went on to sing the role at the Metropolitan Opera and Glyndebourne (‘this is a tenor with all the notes and bags of stage presence to go with them’ - The Independent). He is also in demand as Rodolfo in La bohème (which he has performed at San Francisco Opera, The Met, Zurich Opera and Covent Garden), Verdi’s Duke (Rigoletto), Don Carlo and Jacopo Foscari, Donizetti’s Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Gounod’s Faust, and des Grieux in Massenet’s Manon.
