Béatrice Uria Monzon was a French mezzo-soprano. She had a profound impact on the role of Carmen , of which she has been one of the greatest interpreters on all national and international stages. Béatrice Uria Monzon evolved towards the soprano repertoire, and performed her first Tosca in Avignon and then reprised this role at the Paris Opera, Berlin and La Scala in Milan.
Immediately establishing herself in this new tessitura, she went on to play Lady Macbeth in 2016 at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie and the Capitole in Toulouse, the Countess of Sérizy in Luca Francesconi's Trompe la Mort , world premiere at the Paris Opera in 2017, Adriana Lecouvreur in Saint-Etienne, Margherita and Elena in Boïto's Mefistofele at the Chorégies d'Orange, La Gioconda at the Théâtre Royal de Monnaie in 2019, Madeleine de Coigny in Andréa Chénier .Read more at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Béatrice_Uria-Monzon
