Nationality: German

Wilhelm Backhaus ('Bachaus' on some record labels) was a German pianist and pedagogue. He was particularly well known for his interpretations of Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Brahms. He was also much admired as a chamber musician.
