We’re excited to announce the addition of more Chandos titles to our Presto CD offering, many of which have been unavailable on CD for several years. Established by Brian Couzens, Chandos has won many prestigious awards for its natural sound, and is best known for its ground-breaking search for neglected musical gems.
This third batch includes an array of works which have rarely been recorded elsewhere, and a significant selection of chamber music. Composers include Lennox Berkeley, Michael Berkeley, Bridge, McEwen, Schnittke, Ginastera, Goossens, Arensky, Piazzolla, Grainger, Bloch, Britten, Beethoven, Rossini, Handel, Prokofiev, Goosens and Shostakovich. The standard of artistry is very high, with recordings by Margaret Fingerhut, Howard Shelley, Richard Hickox, London Symphony Orchestra, Sorrel Quartet, Borodin Quartet, Sarah Walker, Roderick Williams and Craig Ogden, amongst others.
