October heavyweights include archive anthologies of Cécile Ousset and Maria Yudina, a Zubin Mehta collection which runs to almost 100 discs, nine complete Donizetti operas on DVD, and a compendium of excerpts from some of the many and varied rediscoveries made by Palazzetto Bru Zane and their associates over the course of the past ten years, including music by Benjamin Godard, Félicien David and Étienne Méhul.
Recorded at the Musikverein’s Großer Saal between March 2017 and April 2019, and released in advance of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in 2020, this is Nelsons’s first complete Beethoven cycle on disc; Camilla Nylund, Gerhild Romberger, Klaus Florian Vogt and Georg Zeppenfeld are the soloists in the Ninth.
