Give back Friday

Rather than joining in with the Black Friday shopping bonanza, we've decided, for the second year in a row, to reframe it here at Presto as 'Give Back Friday' (or more specifically 'Give Back Friday to Monday') where for four days (from 26th to 29th of November - UK time) we will be donating 5% of all the revenue we receive to three charities whose aims are closely aligned with our own. Read a little more information about them below.

Chineke Foundation The first of these is the Chineke! Foundation. Founded by double-bass player Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE in 2015, the organisation works to inspire and encourage young musicians of Black and ethnically diverse backgrounds into our industry, where they are currently significantly under-represented. Our contribution will go towards The Chineke! Beginners’ Orchestra that will give everyone, from children to their parents and carers, the chance to share in the joy of making music together, motivating them to continue playing, guided by coaching and support from professional Chineke! musicians.

Gabrieli The second is the Gabrieli Consort, the choir and period instrument orchestra founded and led by Artistic Director Paul McCreesh. Presto will contribute to Gabrieli Roars residential courses, which will provide 1000 young singers with the opportunity to rehearse & perform with Gabrieli’s world-class musicians.

NYCGB The third is the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, one of the most inspiring organisations for young singers in the UK, which operates nationwide to develop sustainable singing opportunities in schools and communities and accessible pathways for young people to pursue their talents at a regional and national level. Our donation will go towards providing bursaries for 50 talented young singers to join one of their life-changing programmes in 2022.
