"Whispers" – by Christoph Meier is a warm, lyrical piece in F major, moving in a steady 4/4 that sits comfortably under the hands once you find the groove. Written for flugelhorn and piano, it works equally well as a polished recital number or as something you can bring to rehearsal when you want a bit of color without a lot of fuss. At an intermediate level, the lines feel natural and give you room to shape phrasing and balance, and at about four minutes it makes its point without overstaying. An edition you can rely on.
